Encouraged, Even Without Annual Banquet

Matt Miles • October 19, 2017

Here we are, approaching November already, and many of you may be wondering about our Annual CTF Banquet. Originally, we began the banquet as a time for us to gather our supporters for an evening and love on them. It also was a time for us to share all the Lord had done through the year in this ministry. In the last few years, only a handful of you were able to make it to the banquets. This meant the majority of our support base missed the blessing of encouragement we so deeply desired to share with you. It is imperative that we show our supporters how much we appreciate the gifts to our ministry and ultimately to the Lord’s work through us. So this year, with the budget extremely tight, we chose to share our year in ministry a different way. Dr. Sharp and I are making a year-end video that each of you, our supporters, may view at your own convenience. It will allow Doc and I to express our deep thanks and vision for the coming years with every supporter, not just those able to make it to a banquet. We still desire the one-on-one time with our supporters that the banquet made possible, so we would love to schedule a meal together if you’d like; please just contact us. Please know we are always striving to be the best stewards of your precious gifts, whether that be a dollar or more. The Lord has given us another very profitable year for the Kingdom as we battle the onslaught of pagan worldviews. Here at CTF, the profit is not based in dollars and cents but in lives impacted for eternity by His Word. As you will see in our coming video, the Lord is driving us forward in this battle with no end in sight, but with the Hope of His Glory!

This summer we have been busy advancing our mission. Not only have we traveled many miles in our efforts, but we have almost completed our Mobile Museum of Earth History expansion. Back at the beginning of the year when we announced the expansion, there was uncertainty around the time frame of completion since we knew the amount of design and fabrication that was needed for this task. Then an event that was scheduled for the end of summer with the full collection was upgraded to the “mega” expanded collection. This put a deadline on our expansion that focused us and applied a bit of pressure. With many hours of head scratching, planning, design and sweat, we slowly brought the expansion together. When we were unsure about new stands needed for our 24-foot wide Pteranodon , the Lord provided. Michael and Amy Harris (supporters from Willow Hill, IL) donated disc blades, while Aaron Lawrence (minister at Barnsdall Christian Church, OK) fabricated the blades into bases and made rods and hooks to hold the fossil. The stands are such a blessing and exactly what we needed to exhibit one of the Lord’s creations. The Lord has continually provided what we've needed from supplies to funds.
