O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments, and His ways past finding out! For who has known the mind of the Lord? Or who hath been His counsellor? Or who hath first given to Him, and it shall be recompensed unto him again? For of Him, and through Him, and to Him, are all things: to whom be glory forever. Amen. – Romans 11:33-36, KJV
The uniqueness and wonder of life shrouded is breathtaking as it is by nature’s ineffable mysteries, and it has baffled man for time immemorial. The full complement of earth’s priceless features are essential to our existence, but their existence is unexplainable without a Creator!
For example, the enzyme/substrate receptor site is among these wonders. The automatic interface between enzymes and their unique receptor sites, is, to say the least, extremely mindboggling. And it must be kept in mind that without their existence life is impossible! It is these obvious relationships, too many and too complex to be explained by blind chance and accident, that has caused many to believe in an organized, highly intelligent transcendence.
It was the prophet Isaiah that confirmed this idea when He told us that God’s thoughts “…are not our thoughts, neither are our ways His ways … For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways, and My thoughts than your thoughts.” (Isaiah 55:8-9) And without the fact of Creation, evangelistic gospel preaching has no foundation or justification because it was the Creator God that satisfied the price of our redemption. He came to die!
This explains Apostle Paul’s remarks to the people at Mars’ hill: “For as I passed by, and beheld your devotions, I found an altar with this inscription, TO THE UNKNOWN GOD. Whom therefore you ignorantly worship, Him declare I unto you. God that made the world and all things therein, seeing He is Lord of heaven and earth, dwells not in temples made with hands; Neither is worshiped with men’s hands, as though He needed anything, seeing He gives to all life and breath and all things; and has made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on the face of the earth, has determined the times before appointed, and the bounds of their habitation …And the times of this ignorance God winked at: but now commands all men everywhere to repent: because He has appointed a day in which He will judge the world…” (Acts17:23-31)
